Getting Your Home Guest-Ready For Christmas

13 October 2023

Even though Christmas may still seem a long way off, in terms of ordering furniture the clock is well and truly ticking. Many upholsterers are now issuing their pre-Xmas cut-off dates which means sofa or sofa bed orders left as late as November will not be delivered until 2024. To help you prepare, here are a few things to consider to get ahead of the game.

Expecting family for dinner?

As Christmas is the time for family and friends to join together around the dining table, is your existing table large enough and do you have enough chairs to seat everyone? Why not consider an extending dining table and a new set of chairs so that everyone can enjoy the special day sitting in style and comfort?

Expecting guests to stay?

Nothing is better than having friends or family coming to stay yet nothing is worse than not being prepared for them. This is the time of year when sofa beds are a great practical sleeping solution, giving you extra seating during the day and an additional bed at night.

Even if you only have a small spare room why not consider a useful guest bed that can store two single mattresses in one single bed frame maximising both space and sleeping options? A bed-in-a-box is another useful space-saving sleeping option as well as traditional folding bunk beds which can be stored away completely when not in use.

Just getting cosy?

If you prefer a low-key quiet festive period, you can still decorate your home with some attractive lights, rugs, cushions and throws to make you feel cosy and warm during the cold winter months. What’s better than sipping a nice whisky in a fireside chair next to a warming fire while the chaos of kids and Christmas is carrying on elsewhere?
